First 12 months at Ruthven St: Reflecting on our Journey

It's been just over a year since Concinnity opened its doors at Shop 3/320 Ruthven St, Toowoomba. As we reflect on our journey, we're excited to share the experiences, challenges, and growth we've encountered along the way.

Our New Office Moving into our new office was a significant milestone for us. Located in the heart of Toowoomba, this space isn't just an address—it's a hub of creativity and collaboration. It's where our team has come together to tackle diverse projects and foster a culture of innovation.

Collaborating with Volunteering Queensland One of our rewarding partnerships has been with Volunteering Queensland. We've developed online training and assessment resources for Certificates I through III in Active Volunteering, and due to their success, we were then re-engaged to work on Certificate IV in Coordination of Volunteer Programs. Using tools like Articulate Rise and Axcelerate LMS, we've created comprehensive learning plans that also involved staff training at VQ.

Same Sky Different Clouds Project 2023 A highlight of our year was partnering with the Toowoomba International Multicultural Society (TIMS) and Samaa Links for the Skilling Queenslanders for Work program. This initiative allowed us to develop culturally sensitive training, helping a diverse group of learners gain the language skills and confidence needed for further training or employment.

The Katalis Project In collaboration with College Australia, we've developed training modules for our Indonesian partner, Katalis. This project, funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, required navigating cultural differences and translation challenges. The experience has enhanced our understanding and improved our practices, benefiting both our clients and our team.  Two eLearning modules were created:  Introduction to HR Support Role and Introduction to Financial Support Role.  These are soon to be released to the Indonesian market and we look forward to see their reception in this new market.

Launching JOLTs We're excited to introduce Just One Lesson Training (JOLT), our new range of micro-courses launching in July 2024. Developed over the last six months, these courses offer a user-friendly interface and a personal journal feature. The courses are short and focussed.  We have partnered with Tribal Habits platform to host these courses.  This platform was chosen as it is Australian owned and the data is Australian hosted.  If you want to get small snapshots of training anywhere at any time, JOLTs are the right option for you.  Keep an eye out for the launch.

Essential English Program Our Essential English eLearning courses have been another highlight and are designed to build industry specific vocabulary lists and workplace expectations to prepare refugees and migrants for work. Development of these courses has been a learning journey for both our pilot students and us, involving translators and innovative delivery methods. We're now able to offer similar industry-specific packages for businesses needing specialised vocabulary training for employees.

Women's Health Project In collaboration with TIMS and E&A Support Services, we've managed a range of Women's Health workshops. These sessions, held at community venues, addressed personal and important health topics, making them relatable and informative. Other project supporters include Darling Heights Community Hub, Newtown Community Hub and Multicultural Australia.

e-Induction Packages We're preparing to launch a series of e-Induction and micromodule packages aimed at streamlining onboarding and enhancing continuous learning for small businesses. These packages promise to make staff inductions engaging, accessible, and relevant.

Same Sky Different Clouds Project 2024 We're continuing our collaboration with TIMS in 2024 with the Digital Skills for Life program. This initiative focuses on enhancing digital literacy, equipping participants with the essential skills needed to thrive in today's technology-driven job market.

Join us as we continue to create, collaborate, and make a difference in the field of learning and development. The journey of Concinnity is one of growth, and we look forward to what the next year holds.
